Hello…my name is Rachel Culp Morse and I am a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina, though I am currently living in eastern Pennsylvania. I have over 18 years of experience in a variety of settings and have worked extensively with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples on a variety of mental health issues. I can help you work through your life experiences, trauma histories, family dynamics, and relationships to heal your wounded self, feel more empowered, create authentic connection, and become your best self.
TRAUMA // I specialize in working with trauma including sexual abuse and assault, childhood trauma, and unmet childhood needs. Together, we will create a safe space for you to begin exploring and processing your trauma at your own pace I will help you integrating somatic processing, or body work, which includes breathing and grounding techniques, into your trauma recovery. Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) is available.
RELATIONSHIPS and CODEPENDENCY // I have worked with couples about relationship concerns, including infidelity and other types of betrayal. It's easy to get stuck in patterns of codependency, especially if you grew up in a home with addiction or alcoholism. I can help you create healthier boundaries for yourself and your relationships.
PARENTING // I value empowering parents with developmental information and connection-focused parenting skills to help your children thrive. Sometimes we show up for our children with our own childhood wounds and I can help you become a cycle-breaker. Parenting doesn't stop when our children leave our home and I can help you parent your adult-children, too.
ADHD // I really enjoy working with ADHD challenges, both with parents of young children and adolescents as well as with adults who have ADHD! I will help you find strategies and tools, create momentum in your daily life, and help you overcome any executive functioning deficits.
WOMEN'S ISSUES // I can help you find your voice, find balance in your life, work through peri- and post-partum depression/anxiety, address pregnancy concerns and parenting issues. Together, we can find your center and help you breathe.
CULTURAL INCLUSIVITY // I am an LGBTQ ally and am anti-racist and culturally inclusive.
I am holistic in my approach and integrate somatic therapies with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed CBT strategies to help you identify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to increase self-awareness and achieve your goals. I also use solution-focused approaches for short-term problem solving and coaching to help you sort through situational challenges and life transitions. Sometimes we just need to be heard, affirmed, and pointed in the right direction!

FAQ's
WHAT IS COUNSELING? Counseling focuses on current areas of distress and concern along with mental health issues or symptoms and explores your childhood, family history, and past relationships that have shaped you. You can learn more about yourself, identify patterns of dysfunction and dysregulation, heal past hurts and wounds, and learn coping strategies along the way. Counseling is usually covered under most insurance plans and is eligible for reimbursement.
COUNSELING is a good place to start if you are experiencing mental health symptoms (like sleep issues, depressed mood, anxiety, intrusive thoughts and relationship difficulties) that are interfering in your daily life and are disruptive in your daily functioning. *Counseling is limited to residents of South Carolina at this time.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE? I do not accept insurance, but do offer sliding-scale fees (based on need and income) as well as college student rates for counseling clients. I believe that counseling should be accessible and affordable and devote a portion of my practice to serving low-income clients by offering limited financial hardship packages with substantially reduced rates. I do not want cost to prevent you from accessing services.
WHAT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS FOR YOU BUT DO NOT SEE A PHONE NUMBER LISTED? I do not offer phone consultations at this time. However, you can schedule a free 15-min consultation (video call) to find out more information about me and my services. To schedule, select "Request Appointment" and select the "New Client Consultation" option. I have limited spots available each week. You can also select "Contact" below with any questions you have. Or you can send me an email at rachel@rachlemorselpc.com. I check my emails and messages several times a day during business hours (unless otherwise noted) and will respond within 24-hrs or on the next business day.
